Housing and Supervision

Students are housed in Middlebrook Hall across the street from the School of Music (Ferguson Hall) and are supervised by faculty and/or staff at all times. Students and parents will be given copies of the rules upon check-in. No drugs, smoking, or alcoholic beverages are allowed; students unable to abide by the rules are subject to dismissal with no refund.
Students may indicate a roommate preference on their registration form. Roommate assignments will be announced by the Administrative Director no later than July 1. Keys will be issued to each student upon check-in July 12 or 18; failure to return the cardkey will result in a large penalty (in 2009 that penalty was $150). Linens will be issued upon check-in.

Transportation

The University of Minnesota School of Music overlooks the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis and is easily accessible from major highways and by mass transit. If you are arriving by plane, we would be happy to schedule a pick-up at the airport. Click here for driving directions and a map.
