A two-week residential summer music camp for students age 14-20 who
want to develop their music composition talents.
- Composition tutorials
- Composition seminars and master classes with guest composer Richard Marriott, founder of the Club Foot Orchestra and silent film music specialist
- Visual literacy workshops with film-maker Barbara Weiner
- In-depth music analysis seminars
- 2-hours of daily music theory/ear-training in the second week
- A reading of scores for silent film by a professional ensemble (submit scores by June 1, 2010)
- Compose and perform new works
- Daily “salons” with guest artists: composers Stephen Paulus and Sean McMahon, pianist Matthew McCright
- Field trips: Minnesota Orchestra, ice cream social
- Music technology lab, practice rooms
- Room and board
Cost: $1,300, inclusive
